for four or five years the finish was taken in that area. then it came back in the velodrome

Four Belgian riders ina sprint to win, wonderful for Belgian fans. It was a very wet race, and the video shows crash after crash. Bob Roll was the top American finisher, and appears briefly near the end of this clip.

Poor Dhaenens -- always very close in Paris-Roubaix, but never quite netted it. The 1990 Worlds were his consolation prize. |
