Fair decision. Eventhou Saverese ccored well in the middles, George cearly dominated the fight, particularly the two last rounds. Big George hit harder and actual punches to the face of Saverese. That is the reason why two judges scored in favour of Foreman.

Saverese was not a bad fighter. His handlers picked a lot of his early opponents but he cranked it out later in his career. He was too stiff for my liking. I think he should had settled down on his punches to generate more power. His always seemed akward.

well said, Methos5000plus. it has been my experience that men who call fighters bums are either hyping a prospective fight with the guy or losers hiding behind keyboards or other safe barriers, they would have an instant heart attack if they actually had to get in a ring and fight.

Savarese does not deserve to be called a bum. He certainly wasn't one of the greats but he's been in with enough of the big boys to get some due respect. A man that can last 12 with even an old Big George and knock out Tim Witherspoon, Buster Douglas and Buster Mathis, Jr is not a bum. In amateur days, he was a two time New York Golden Gloves champion and as a pro snagged the NABF title for a bit. While not world champ material, he's a good fighter, a tough guy and a quality opponent.
