The best video on YouTube. It has the most heart and the most soul and you really see how much OCMS and Welch Rawlings enjoy playing the music together. There wouldn't even have to be an audience and it would be the same. Awesome.

I love the way Secor sings, "Luke's a waitin' on judgement day"

The version on the Last Waltz w/the Staple Singers *is* amazing. Love getting to hear David sing here though.

I too would like to know if its available on MP3 or on itunes. Man the voice of the OC singer is incredible.. I mean he hits that high mountain style voice that is now getting lost in time. Its glad to know there will be people like him to carrying on the torch. Waldo: I do like the waltz verion of this song. But I think they all did it there way and it was different and equally as good. I love the slow tempo here. I also like how they hit some notes hard a bit faster. Excellent performers.

I like this version better than The Last Waltz version. I like The Band's studio version better than any live version of theirs I've ever heard.

There are also condenser mics for sound stage effects.

agreed...Welch, Rawlings, and OC make this song their own. It's a different version...it's not better or worse, it's just different. I love the Band's version and I love this one. |
