Usopp is very good at planning and figuring ways to defend against attackers. The reason he was able to hurt Luffy so badly so quickly was because he had been watching him fight for a long time prior, so he knew exactly how gullible and predictable he was. However, he lost because in the end, Luffy's grit outlasted the traps Usopp had prepared.Against an UNFAMILIAR opponent though, Usopp is at a severe disadvantage, and has to rely on quick thinking and craftiness... which he is VERY good at.

Usopp's only ever "strong" when he gets a certain item from a certain arc in the series (don't want to spoil it too much for anyone just in case they haven't watched that far in), and other than that he just relies on his cunning, shooting accuracy, dumb luck and cheap tricks. Which is why I like him, haha.

I actually don't think that. I know he did quite a bit of damage to Luffy but Zoro lives through a lot more than nearly being cut in half. (Then again I am a little bias since Zoro's one of my favorite characters since he's always lost XD) It is true that Usopp is rather strong though... stronger than most people think he is (probably much stronger even than I think he is).

'He did more damage to Luffy than any other person.' Hell if he was fighting Zoro at that time Zoro would have been dead. Luffy only live through the on slot do to his Super-powers.

I... don't think so. He's cool but I doubt he would last long against like Zoro or Sanji or Luffy... That is... if he stayed long enough to actually fight lol. I still love him though XD
