What convinced me with Bono is that he simply has nothing to gain from this and alot to loose. He's already such a big celebrity that this campaigning can only really detract from that. And he's had so much backlash from this yet he keeps going - and that convinces me that he genuinely wants to help people.

I was skeptical about Bono for the first couple of years that he became active on behalf of the poor. I figured he was just one more celebrity who either felt guilty or wanted to build his reputation. It's such a cynical age... I'm not a gullible person but I truly believe that Bono is sincerely trying to make the world better. He's at least realistic in his attitude about what will help and is not just another "do gooder".

British colonialism will save these people by providing jobs, money, education and opportunities! Not Bob geldof and Bono having make poverty history concerts!

Can I ask what everyone else is doing to help?

prolly population control vacinations with extra hormones in them, administered by the criminal UN to kill african babies.

Businness' need to be realistic, and they probably had to really fight to get that figure up to 10% as it is.
