With all respect, radiohead is quite far from the sadness that beth is talking about, the sadness that touches every inches of your soul, like a blade that cuts your thigh, radiohead is more about madness rather than sadness.. I didnt like their cover.

oh my god--i love it almost as much as beth gibbons' version, which is her most haunting, exquisite vocal performance yet. thank you, radiohead--you did huge justice to a gorgeous song.

oh no, that's just another extreme.. this very unilateral approach to judging music. of course, there's tons of amazing complex music, and then there's complex music that is nothing much more than just irritating musical wankery. and of course, there's tons of amazing simple unpretentious modest music, and then there's simple music that is so mindnubming in its plainness and derivativeness that it makes you sick. it all depends. :)
