It wasn't made by a Kiowa, that itself disqualifies it as such. He also states that this flute is bamboo. And yes, bamboo sure does make flutes alot easier to make and many are sold as Native American and they sound similar but again they are not genuine. I don't know if the issue of cultural sovereignty is important to anyone but those whose identities are appropriated, but it should at least be considered by those who feel a connection or admiration to us that this isn't right. Sounds NDN tho!

I'm sure somewhere this a diatonic flute out there somewhere incorporating the 6 holes, but pentatonic scales are more common with native american flutes.

Easy there trigger happy, bamboo is used to create alot of native american flutes these days as it is cheap and quick to find and shape. So essentially it IS a Kiowa, only made from bambo, though the way a Kiowa is created, I doubt that is bamboo. That looks like a hardwood with a glossing.

Don't take this the wrong way, but that is NOT a Kiowa flute. We don't and never have used bamboo. Our(Kiowa)flutes are made out of cedar and rarely, some are made of other regional native hardwoods. Don't assume any "Kiowa" authenticity just because of the name. The "Kiowa" name used here is strictly for commercial use. So, if you are looking for an authentic Kiowa flute, there are some out there on the net. If you just want a pretty sounding flute, this one is very nice but it isn't Kiowa.
