You're actually supposed to attach the Supercharger to the gun for shoulder cannon mode.

I just bought Sideswipe yesterday and I just love him. I have him and my universe classics Sunstreaker next to each other. Sideswipe makes Sunstreaker remind me why I love the vehicle and robot modes. I am also extatic that he will be in Bay's Transformers. I so hope that Sunstreaker will be with him.
