I can't agree that the Thom Yorke version is better. This song is the real spiritual centerpiece of the the movie, the heart at its center, as Selma articulates that what she sees from within is what keeps her going. She projects beauty onto the worst situations. It cannot save her, but it's what gives her terrible little life the dignity and meaning it has. And this song, involving a real conversation she is having (not just an escapist fantasy), is the key song of the film and character..
