I would venture to say that all music is emotional to one degree or another. Some music is more institutionalized and built upon established structures (which Beethoven used and even added his own signature to), and music that is more free-flowing and meant to present a musicians' interpretation, rather than the composer's strict intent. I enjoy many forms of music, but I agree with TROGDOR to some extent. Much of today's music is a celebration of crime and misogyny. It is cultural degeneracy.

Could I ask for some clarification here?I'm confused as to why you're separating rhythm and emotion...the two are not mutually exclusive.

haha, ya, I mostly meant western music. My mind slipped on more african, eastern european and east asian music and things like that. But ya, for most western music today, and western european as well, it is quite heavily influenced by the classical greats like Mozart, Bach, and Beethoven.

Not correctly right I say. Beethoven and many others paved the way for many other Western musicians/composers. I personally think it is a question of culture. The African people for instance, are more rythmic orientated then emotionally.A clash between these two streams and a whole lot of years later eventually brings us these streams we have witnessed for the last decades/century.

beautiful music! plain and simple

The one thing you fail to realize is that true artists like Beethoven paved the way for all music, no matter what kind it is. It is quite sad that music like this has degenerated to what it is today, the talent replaced by semi-naked girls humping anything that moves while they sing and dance to electronic beats...
