Though now forgotten, Amos Milburn was one of the "fathers" of Rock 'n Roll.He was R&B's primary link to Boogie Woogie. Milburn was the acknowledged "guru" of Fats Domino. "Bad, Bad Whiskey" killed him on January 3, 1980. This is an homage ad gloria suam.

Fabulous stuff : an excellent UK pianist Mike Sanchez does great justice to the most excellent Amos Milburn : great to hear from his nephew, with the story about Little Richard being taught left hand boogie. keep rockin'

I heard Amos Milburn's music all the time when I was a child. The radio stations may have eventually stopped playing his music or he may have stopped making hits but people in my parents' generation never forgot him. Never.I can remember playing some of his recordings at parties that my sisters and I threw for our parents and their friends and then the "old folks" would get up dance then.

It's a shame that Amos Milburn's name doesn't come up very often when it comes to rock and roll's founding fathers. Never had seen any kind of footage on him until this one. Thanks for posting!

Amos Milburn is a legend - this man should be a household name.
