wow. i was there in chengdu during this earthquake and this just brought back so many memories...the running into the street, the shaking, the panic...wow. so crazy.

No, the airplane is not connected to the Earth so it does not shake. If it were in a confined space (like a bee flying a school bus) it might experience some jarring, but the Earth's atmosphere is too big and the percentage of crust actually moving is very small. Think of it this way--the ocean rolls constantly but that doesn't affect the plane. :)
