He's only HALF Arab just like most "Arab" Americans!Jenna Dewan, Amy Yasbeck, Tifanny Darwish, Darrell Issa,Salma Hayek... are all half! Why do they only state the non-European side of a celebritiy in the USA? For example they say Alicia Keys is black when she's is OBVIOUSLY as much white as she is black? Don't mothers count in America as well?

Yeah right! If they r Arab why do they have Western names like Casey and Bobby. Doesn't get more English than that! Btw Dick Dale's mum is not Arab and I bet the others you mentioned r only half as well.

The King of the Surf Guitar, Dick Dale, was born Richard Monsoor to a Lebanese father, so like many great Americans (Bobby Rahal, Casey Kasem, Tony Shalhoub, Danny Kaye among the most famous) he is of Arab descent. He is noted for the middle eastern influences on his music. Misirlou itself is an old Greek song, and the name translates, ironically enough, to "Egyptian Girl". Good luck to your song on learning the guitar. He can't go wrong with Dick Dale!
