They weren't... This is different - We thought about it, opposed it. I oppose most of the areas in Genetic Engineering.

To avoid the "system of control"... we must install a dictatorship?

there's a lecture on youtube somewhere by this futurist guy... he was talking about the artificial eyes/ears implants that they have now... the interesting thing about it that i didn't already know was that apparently when they implant them they aren't really able to send signals directly to the brain-the brain actually adapts itself to recieve the signals of the implant.

Man this guy is so crazy and immature. Its clear he has a very weak spirit and doesnt have the courage to face life. He wants posthumans to have the ability to only feel happiness and never any pain. What is this kid still sleeping with a nightlight next to his mommy? THis is NOT a critical analysis.

I guess the Luddite movement is alive and well, else the person that made this video would have done enough research to know that the solutions to all the negatives he mentioned are all part of the transhumanist agenda. IE. Socialist application of technology to bypass human greed, neuro-mechanical technology designed to prevent any possible mind control, and many other aspects. But it's alot easier to spin it as fear if you leave out all the facts and just rely on ignorance.

i wonder if humans were this scared of technological progress 1000 years ago... 2000..3000? "no, lets no play with that new invention called fire.. we might all burn to death".."ohh we better not fuck around with that thing called a wheel.." "if we pass the sound barrier we will all die horrible deaths." etc...

I honestly feel I'd prefer virtual reality in which I am truly happy then the real world were problems and pain and depression are an ever consistent threat. If that makes me weak then so be it. Now, of course in this virtual reality I would expect some problems to occur that creates pain and depression simply because if you don't have anything bad happen to you you won't appreciate the good things. To be truly happy you must be sad once in awhile. |
