i have the same problem it wont go into recovery mode!all the people in videos and online say all u have to do is hold it downbut im holding it down like this guy and it wont go blackyes it is plugged in and itunes is closed

why did you give me thumbs down?just hold the power button and home button until the screen turns black then plug it into your computer and itunes.itunes should say "detected ipod in recovery mode" or something to that extent. hit ok and then hit restor and wait.
