nobody cares if you put hid on cars in the us some bmw that have hid dont even have projector head lights it when you have the dims aimed up to high...... and for every one saying get the cheap hid look alike those suck and arnt as bright and dont look nearly as cool.... look is y most ppl get them any way

It would depend what car but for example a pair of standard Philips D4S bulbs as OEM fitted to many cars produces 7600lm. Cars have had HID lights for over 10 years though have tended to not be widespread as its not cheap to produce good quality HID and car manufactures will not fit junk. This is why cheap after market kits are such a problem as they don't pass safety requirements

only difference is on a bike no laws are enforced as to how high the beam can be nor is there a legal limit as too how many lights you can have.what is the light output in lumen's for a cars hid lights...why are cars soooo far behind with light technology where as bikes and even motor cycles have had these lights 10 yrs ago..

1500lm is far from as bright as a automotive HID system. Your talking close to a quarter of that of a cars headlights on low beam. Most bicycle lights are sold as for off road use only and are not road legal. Very few bicycle lights are actually approved and marked for use on the road. The old BS standard for bicycles is also due to be replaced by a newer ECE standard.

If you're installing hids into projectors will the projectors automatically provide correct aim? Cuz i know that bad glare can be caused by incorrect aim of the light..
Bayouman002 (December 31, 1969 at 6:59 pm)
so your going to have ruby colored lights? weird...
carlocardillo (December 31, 1969 at 6:59 pm)
but what about bicycle lights.i have hid lights on my bike which produce 1500 lumeens.are they legal...this one light is far brighter than a cars headlights.
carlocardillo (December 31, 1969 at 6:59 pm)
all well and good but have you noticed that range rovers with hid lights can be blinding if the road surface is uneven.

At least if you're going to put an HID kit in your car, make sure it has projector headlights or even have aftermarket projectors installed beforehand. It's safer for other drivers on the road because you don't get that annoying glare and the light beam is more accurate to begin with.
