Plenty cheery here.I spend more time in Mexico than you know. About 20 minutes from the border. Surf down there all the time and have for the past 30 years. I do not contend to speak for"the Spanish speaking culture"even though I might consider myself in that group. The word gringo means more than you say.Kind of like Haole.That's not for discussion here though.Laughing at mispronunciations?I teach my students not to do that."To be expected" just doesn't seem cool to me.I'm sure you meant well.

its just like Mexicans who can't pronouncer English right, after the teenage years if your trying to learn a new language that you didn't know as a kid, its pretty much impossible to master a language perfectly without mispronunciations.
