Veronica was one of my favorite ladies of the film. During the war, one of my buddies had a picture of her in his wallet. She died in 73, I believe. God bless her. Gramps

I love the Veronica Lake hair style. Best hollywood hair EVER. The coolest hair style on a female movie star ever. Veronica Lake and Rita Hayworth had the best hair.

Bette Davis once said Veronica Lake was the most beautiful woman to ever come to Hollywood. Just read Peekaboo, The Story of Veronica Lake by Jeff Lenburg. So sad. Thanks pesoto74 for a moving tribute to this lady.

Great pictorial review of the much missed Veronica Lake, with a perfect Coltrane accompaniment. For those of you unfamiliar with her movies, I would recommend Sullivan's Travels and This Gun for Hire. Always smart, tough and saucy, she was the perfect Brooklyn girl. Sadly, her serious film career was virtually finished by 1948.

I'd never heard of Veronica Lake until Aaliyah spoke of her. Thats where she got her style of wearing her hair over her eye and she would use her name when checking into hotels so fans wouldnt know where she was staying.
