The guitar he uses has a special output, it allows him to pan different strings to the left and right of the mix. In the studio he makes it sound like it's coming from everywhere at once. I don't know how he does it live but it's just amazing.

It's a custom made electro-acoustic nylon string, it's a one off. I read somewhere that he wanted to be able to pan the strings a certain way to get a specific sound.
