.....ok i do see your point. I dont want to get embroiled in a flame war over a topic as trivial as this. But this took place 7-8 years ago. Constantly bashing the driver of Voltarc for his actions, which i know were unfair, is going to do absolutely nothing. no point in going any further with it. I value your opinions a great deal; iv seen your argument on other robot related fights and i can see you know a lot:) I do too. Wel just leave this as it is.

You're completely missing the point. There's no rule that says you CAN'T completely destroy a robot. Practically half the robots I've seen on Battlebots end up that way. It's something you expect. However, there clearly WAS a rule that said you CAN'T hold on to a robot for more than 30 seconds. THAT'S the problem we all have with Voltarc, and I'm not sure you understand. It's like saying the England football team of '86 should have anticipated Maradona using his fist to goal-score. Doesn't work.

look. when you build a robot and compete, then you have the right to complain. Otherwise, there is no right to. It might have been a bit unfair, but its the same situation as when another robot gets ripped apart. Hard luck on the victim isnt it?? They should have anticipated the damage that could be caused, as the driver of biohazard should have against Voltarc's design. Im not bashing Biohazard, his driver/designer or your opinions, just that im getting pissed off with these kind of people.

It's not the design we don't like about Voltarc beating Biohazard, it's the cheapness. The guy quite clearly said that a robot could only be held for 30 seconds. But Voltarc had ahold of Biohazard for practically the entire match. If he had, say, let Bio go after the first KS attack, then done the same again and repeated, that'd have been OK.

people will still allow the wedge, as long as there is an active weapon on it to back it up. As for this match, dont flame Voltarc. It was tough bollocks on Biohazard; Voltarc was a brilliant design against it.

Voltarc's driver is so fuckin high on himself. He fought like a coward in this match. Biohazard would have schooled him otherwise.

Fak Voltarc. He got lucky,Biohazard got screwed.

While Biohazard is one of the best designed robots of all time, I'm glad in ESPN's new Battlebots rules they are outlawing wedge and low ramp designed robots, battles like this are just insanely boring and anti-competitive. These are Battle Bots, not Grapple/Ramp Bots. Biohazard will always be one of my favorites but I'm interested in the new rule format.
