Actually the "Little Old Lady from Pasadena" was Kathryn Minner, hired by Dodge to do TV and radio advertising. Her famous line was "PUT A DODGE IN YOUR GARAGE....HONEY!" Think she also did advertising for Cragar Mags in the 60's too.

That is good info but one thing that should be pointed out is that the Arnie Ginsburg from Jan & Arnie is definitely NOT Arnie "Woo Woo" Ginsburg. Totally differnt guy. "Woo Woo" was fairly well known DJ in the 50's. The Arnie from Jan and Arnie was a HS buddy of Jan's at Uni High in West LA. They made a few songs together after "Jennie Lee", but Arnie lost interest and moved on ...eventually became a Lawyer I think. Dean then returned and re-partnered with Jan.

Thanks for that info - I remember I had a 45 disc "Gotta Get a Date" by Jan & Arnie, not sure if that was the flip-side of "Jennie Lee" though.

Yes, Jan & Arnie were Jan Berry and Arnie "Woo-Woo" Ginsberg. Dean was doing a 6 month hitch in the Army when "Jennie Lee" got picked up by Arwin Records. Even though Dean was on the record WITH Jan & Arnie, he was unable to get leave to come home to sign the contract with Arwin and thus recvd no credit on that release.

Anyone know if Jan is the same person as in Jan & Arnie? I had a single "Jennie Lee" by Jan & Arnie, and I was under the impression that Arnie was Arnie Ginsberg, but "Jennie Lee" was so different to Jan & Dean's subsequent releases that I'm not sure if it could have been the same Jan. Also, if anyone has any of Jan & Arnie's three single releases and could upload them, I would be very grateful!

You are right. Jan suffered severe head injuries in a wreck on April 12, 1966. He had just celebrated his 25th birthday on April 3rd the same year. Dean remained a good and devoted friend, believing in Jan's future. Maybe that was part of his amazing recovery? Who can say, but these two are a winning pair. Their friendship endured through many personal problems.
