mobile phones are allowed on planes, but due to the fact that the plane flies over several countries, it is difficult to pick up a signal - the airlies also have no way of charging you for using your phone - its a con!! Airlines are now developing a system that allows you to use your mobile during the flight. You essentially connect to a network that is on the actul plane, and then relayed to ground. Now the airline can charge you a fortune for using your phone.

yes they do, otherwise they would be aloud. Many things that give off signals are tested on aircrafts and and mobiles will have so this is why there not aloud, Flight mode is also not aloud with my airline
