That was a quote from Bill Hicks, not Maynard. And it's played during the opening of Third Eye, not Jerk Off.

Panopticon is, by far, their best effort. You really should give it another good chance.Hell, this is a masterpiece, its somewhere between perfection and "chef d'oeuvre"

huh, really?well, i can agree with him to an extent.i have tried certain drugs, and because of my decisions i definitely obtained a much more opened mind to life and a stronger connection to not only myself, but to nature as well.so as an experimentation, i see no problem.unless it's, you know, stuff like cocaine.anyway, this is a nice song.i've just started listening to oceanic about twenty minutes ago, i'm really enjoying this record so far. :D

They can be called brain chemicals as much as anyone wants to call them that, I don't need them. I have my own brain chemicals and they haven't failed me yet. I don't need ones that put me into a crowd of people that only care about the proper shroom growing environment, who they're buying weed from next, or what kind of trip they want to have on acid. I tend to stray from that scene.

Okay: a) Tool is an "acid-advocating" band? Haha, did not know. Anyways: b) mushrooms and marijuana, in my humblest opinion, are the most natural mind-altering drugs. But I agree, self-induced tripping is possible and even more "natural". Either way, I think it's always healthy to warp one's perceptions of the world every now, in some way. It shows how infinitely blind we are in our perceptual bubbles of how we approach the world. BUT, neither LSD nor MJ are anything more than brain chemicals. |
