In a sharp turnaround, Republican John McCain has opened a 5-point lead on Democrat Barack Obama in the U.S. presidential race and is seen as a stronger manager of the economy, according to a Reuters/Zogby poll released on Wednesday.McCain leads Obama among likely U.S. voters by 46 percent to 41 percent, wiping out Obama's solid 7-point advantage in July and taking his first lead in the monthly Reuters/Zogby poll.

theacadamyisme: America has always "evolved" but you don't trash the very foundation on which the United States is built. America is an idea - and people from all over the world understand this and come to the United States - with hope and gratitude. My grandparents came here from Europe and they saw the same thing. If you want to suckle the teats of a bloated government program, move elsewhere. This election is not about race. Socialism, Communism and Marxism will never take hold in America.

You are right, but you forgot 2 things. 1)this is the USA and no one can ever turn it to a communist state, no matter how hard they tried.2)there have been many young leaders all over the world who actually cared and understood what the people felt, unlike McCain who only sees lobbyists.

Letter from a CubanOn June 30, 1968, I escaped Communist Cuba. In the late 1950s, most Cubans thought Cuba needed a change. So when a young leader came along, every Cuban was receptive. They never questioned what he really believed in. When he said he would help the poor and bring free medical care and education to all, everyone followed. When he said, "I'll bring you change"; everyone yelled, "Viva Fidel!" By the time "change" was implemented, they were equally poor, hungry, and oppressed.
