Compañia Domingo Ortega -- 'Orfeo'
New ORFEO Video Compañia Domingo Ortega ORFEO promotional video featuring:Tarantos; Siguiriyas; Farruca; and Soleá por BuleríasThe story of Orpheus and Eurydice has long been a favorite of artists, poets, and musicians alike. This acclaimed production of the classic Greek myth spins this heart-breaking tale of love and lose through the timelessness of Flamenco. The tale of Orfeo tells of a beautiful youth, who is able to charm with the power of his dance, however despite his skills, not even he can escape fate as he loses his beloved Eurydice not once, but twice. Orfeo, capable of moving even inanimate objects with his dance, falls in love with Eurydice. Tragically, Eurydice is killed by a serpent and is carried away to the Underworld. Orfeo travels there to convince the Gatekeeper and the Underworld of his love for Eurydice. Swayed by the power of dance, they release Eurydice from death. However, she can only return to the world of the living if Orfeo agrees not to turn back and look at her on their journey. Orfeo tormented by his love for Eurydice, and longing to see his beloveds' face just once more, turns, and ultimately is lost to him forever. In this modern-day fairy tale, Orfeo and company dance to the familiar themes of love, hope, life and death. For those open to the charms of love, ravishing music, and dazzling Flamenco dance, Orfeo is an unparalleled experience.Principal Dancer/Choreographer: Domingo Ortega Excecutive Producers:Rodri J.
