I just read an article on this in the paper, it was just intended to be a work of art, not something that is going to be sold mass market; it portrays the importance of chairs in every day life, and also how our culture is so immersed in falling, "falling in love", "falling asleep", etc. You have to look at it from an artist's perspective, not as a consumer.

It's art you morons. It's at the Vancouver Contemporary Art Gallery. If you can't appreciate it (whether you love it or hate it) you have no imagination. Just think in 200 years, a medical piece of equipment might not only put itself together, it might even be able to to put a human being back together.
