No, I don't think that is the lifestyle he wanted. I think because he rapped about it, he felt like he had to live it. He didn't want to be a hypocrite. He was like "this isn't supposed to be my life. This is my image..."

Right. Gangsta rap glorifies the gangsta lifestyle. I don't think Pac did that. Just because he talked about it doesn't mean he glorified it. Someone needed to speak the truth about it and shed light on it. People need to look at the totality of his message--the whole story...he talked a lot about making changes too and getting drugs off the street, and helping the poor. They never mention that though. How ironic.

Exactly. What about personal responsibility? I'm not going to go out and shoot nobody because I heard it in a song. That's stupid as hell. Use your head people. He's not responsible for the choice that that person made. He is only responsible for himself. That's not his problem someone shot someone else because of something they heard in his song. They probably took it out of context anyway. |
