The more you mix, the more your ears are trained to hear subtle differences. That is also why mixing takes years of practice! :-)

Good video and great plugin but there is a point at the end where I don't agree: if you always increase the output to match the max gain reduction value (3dB in this case) it will always sound louder due to the fact that compressed signal's average loudness has increased as well. 3dB reduction doesn't always require 3dB gain match, thats why I "hate" auto gain function on the compressors as they only follow a mathematical way of compensating the gain reduction..

Oceanway Nashville has at least 3 of them. I saw them in the A,B,and C rooms there. I didn't view the D room. This plugin sounds pretty good IMHO. The real thing obviously sounds a lot better than this though. I would buy this plugin no question about it.The other they have may be copies but our engineer there didn't specify. I've seen these in other studio as well. Sometimes we run through them without hitting them just for the warmth of the signal.

Cause let me guess:You just HAPPEN to have a fairchild 670 laying around in your garage, right? Do you even realize how RARE a 670 is? This plug was sampled at Ocean Way Studios, which houses one of the last known models of the 670... Don't be such a nay-sayer dude, this plugin kicks your ass! lol-Joel |
