I was 12 when I heard this, my friends all gave me crap because they said GFR sucked but I still stuck with them. I learned all their songs before moving onto more difficult stuff but without them I probably wouldn't have tried. GFR still rocks and sounds better than most of the shit on popular radio today.

I had a crush on a girl in elementary school when this song first came out. Her name was Babette. I related to this song even at the age of what ? ...7 maybe 8. She was my first heart breaker cause I couldn't be with her. I was trapped in being a child. Puppy love is great, but it sucked back then HA HA!!

I saw Grand Funk in 1970 when they played in Nashville ..REO Speedwagon was the opening grope ...was a heck of a concert (what I can remember of it) ...it is a real shame that Mark had to leave the grope because with out Mark Farner there is no Grand Funk ..other then Led Zeplin the early Grand Funk was my favorite of all time ...my eyes get bloodshot just hearing this song!

Give me Mark Farner any day but Nugent is a total loser. Met him at a bar here in Fla in the late '70s and he thought he was "the man". He's a gun freak and kills innocent animals for sport. The guy has totally lost it. Nugent has really turned into a mad man. Sorry to see so much hate towards nature coming from him. The years have made him meaner and more hateful. Mark, don't lower yourself by playing with this idiot any more. Nugent can only wish he could put on a show like you!
