JamesGNR (October 11, 2008 at 10:54 pm)
no but thats just how the modern guitar age has evolved, music in its self has become more widely spoken, there are now collage's and universtys spersifically for that, back in the day of hendrix that didnt exsist.in response also hendrix in term of speed and chops is nothing compared to these players of today.

SO you're saying someone like Andres Segovia lacks soul or emotion because they were properly trained in music? I'm afraid I'm gonna have to call bullshit on that assertion.

There is soul in these musicians. You just fail to see it because each individual expresses it in your own way.Hendrix has his way, these virtuosos have their own. I'm not going to call Jimi the guitar god, or the most brilliant alive, because simply he is outdated and had passed before he can show anything to pass like these guys are showing us today. Clapton's still around, to me he seems to play the same he did in the Cream days. I am a shred fan, and Clapton isn't a shredder.
