Hello all,I realize he never had the final gear and Sayers is probably #1,but Chuck Foreman was one of the most elusive backs ever.Few made people miss tackles as clean as he did. His most spectacular runs where between 15 and 25 yards,but inbetween those yards he made half the defenders miss.After the Vikings played the Bears for the first time in 73'they themselves said they'd never seen anyone like that since Sayers.His moves resembled a firemans pressure hose when the cap pops off!!

Since we heard the annoucer for the game, I wonder if the actual TV broadcast still exists.Obviously this was just from the NFL Film archives.

dude barry retired because he did'nt want 2 surpass his hero walter paytons rushing record.not because of the lions who infact one 2 superbowls with barry there and barry made the pro bowl evry year he played 4 the lions . besides even if he did'nt have those 2 super bowls he still would've had a spot in the hall of fame no doubt. STUPID!!

What if Sayers did not injure his knee or was afforded modern medical treatments? Sayers would have been the greatest back ever. Now what would become of Walter Payton. Would the Bears have drafted Payton in 1975 if Sayers was still around?

OK here it is people. IF I had the chance to run like any halfback that played the game. I would say GOD let me be able to run like Gale Sayers...but only without the knee injury. You can copy some runners fakes in a real game. I don't think it is possible to make the runs Gale made because they were so ingenuitive. And he did it all at top speed.
