I love it. how humiliating. I admit I'm leaques less educated than Friedman, but I still think he's a dumbass, or selfish or both;) Once again, love, love it;)

Hit this pompous fool again! And again. "Intellectual" my sphincter. He's a filthy shill for war and torture. Hit him again!

That was completely undignified...its unbelievable how low some people would descend to spread their distorted beliefs. They just couldn't disseminate their ideas through reasonable persuasion...so they resort to throwing pies at an accomplished intellectual during his public speaking. Brown University students? Wow...way to contribute to your Ivy League institution's reputation. What an opprobrium. Now we know that Brown is full of sophisticated academics and future global leaders.

The people who did this have no integrity. They couldn't allow their beliefs to speak for themselves and be self-evident, so they resorted to a despicable manner of conduct. Fucking losers.

I most emphatically disagree. Watch Friedman's reaction as someone from the crowd comes rushing at him; he puts his arms up to protect himself and backs away. As far as he was concerned the guy WAS physically going after him. He didn't have the luxury of knowing whether it was a punch, a knife, a gun, or....a pie. The threat of violence IS violence. Violence can be verbal, physical, or, as in this case, implied.

I'm disagree most totally. Did you see Friedman put his arms up and back away when he first saw someone coming at him? As far as he knew, it could have been a punch, a knife, a gun,...but it just so happened to be a pie. When I first watched it I thought the guy WAS going to physically attack him. The threat of violence IS violence no matter what the actual form it takes, be it verbal, physical, or implied.

Just watched his clip telling Charlie Rose about the Iraq War (we hit Iraq because we could, Charlie) and now, watching him pie'd I'd like to say: whatta a good way to balance the scales of Justice. Pieing is helluva way to bring this apologist for naked power back down to earth, by the way. Thanks, Guerrillas!

What is anybody that comments on this page doing personally about global warming and the problems it's going to produce? Besides throwing pies? And where do you think the proceeds went that bought the plastic plates used to hold the whip creme?

If he were to have fallen and got hurt while trying to protect himself, would that then still be ok? If you had to ask Friedman a couple questions, what would they be, concerning his one sided views? |
