Fair enough. And for a "little fan-made trailer" I guess you're right--it's pretty cool. To be clear though, it's not that I don't want any movie made at all; I just want it done right. Crossing genres is very tricky. Sometimes it's done right (e.g. I think LOTR was done well), but usually such attempts are FUBAR and we all have to live with the sour taste of it in our mouths, longing for the good old days when all we knew was our gaming experience with it.

thanks for a level-headed response. all i'm saying is that for a little fan-made trailer, this was pretty cool. metroid is my favorite series, and i too would hate to see a real movie made from it.

Well in a way that's my point: that since any Metroid movie I could make would be mediocre at best, I show my respect for it by doing nothing at all; and my hope is that others would feel the same. Perhaps you think I'm too critical--you're probably right, you win on that score. I'm just worried that a poor interpretation will come out and ruin the concept (as it did for one of my other favorite games: Resident Evil). If the choice is between a bad movie or no movie at all, I'll take the latter
