Just to prove that the TGV can go faster than the Bullet train in Japan and a lot faster than the Acela express in the USA

The HSR project NEVER started. In the 1980's the idea was there. The American Government NEVER said "build it".Too many "American" CEO's swayed the US Government not to get it built. Blame, among others, car manufacturers & the air lines for saying "No".Still, in 2008 with a National Debt in the Trillions, the idea for HSR is on the table. AGAIN!As of today, it is still not known when OR if HSR will get built. So, it will not be overnight.I, among many "expected HSR years ago".

Ok, so they start the project about HSR in California...any idea of when that's will be finish ?

No injuries after a crash on the TGV is STILL impressive!True. The American oil crisis would increase the demand for HSR (High Speed Rail). The problem? Our American Government has failed miserably to get HSR built. In the 1980's the state of California (about the size of Japan) would have begun HSR. A rep for the Japanese Bullet train system favored California. Had THAT happened, America would have been "competitive" with countries like France, Japan, Taiwan, Germany & Spain by now.
