This was the first ever fast lick that I learned as kid getting into metal. It is a very versatile little lick and here I show you a few variations on it so you can get stuck in :)Picking should be down on the first note and then up for the next picked note. so it goes... down pick, hammer, flick, up pick on the next string! Sorry I forgot to mention it in the vid... I ran out of time.Support and tab on the web site: http://justinguitar.comEquipme... - Red 80's Fender Strat - using bridge pickup (a Seymour Duncan Cool Stack) into a Keeley modified Blues Driver pedal into a Mesa Boogie 5:25.

up and down picking is alternate picking, whatever is comfortable

is it wrong if i'm picking UP on the first note and then picking DOWN on the second??

actually try using ur third in time so u can involve more notes in ur licks that will widen spaces between ur fingers its good but dont go hard stretchin ur hands step by step when u finish playin guitar feelin some pain in ur fingers be happy cz it means u played somethin new to ur fingers that makes u stronger equals faster if u manage to bend with ur 4th without losing control on the string then cool but i warn u in the future u will need extra finger believe me g luck

how long have you been playin?

Does anyone else use their 4th finger instead of their 3rd to fret that pentatonic box shape? I have small hands and using the 3rd finger for the 4 fret reach always felt uncomfortable. Using the fourth finger instead of the 3rd lets you do some really wide bends though as you can use the 3rd finger to "reinforce" the bend.
