you can get a free trial of mudbox 2009 form the autodesk website or look on the pirate bay where i found a torrent for mudbox 2009 that worked beautifully. no errors and extremely easy to patch. send message if you need more info.

Mudbox is Number 2 of the sculpting apps i suppose, it seams, that zbrush is used a lot more often in games these days, but thats just due to the featureset we'll see what mudbox can offer later. in games i'd say max is the number 1 choice, right after that maya than xsi, i'm not to close to the filmproduction but maya is more in use there

I suppose its all about how your going to use it, and before hand i wasn't aware that you could make games assets on it so maybe i would have changed what i said had i known that o.ODo you know any games that have been made with it?

Yep i know them and they also use cg for their art, not only clay. I also heard of animatronics but they die out more and more as you are more flexible with a finished 3d character/creature. But that doesn't answer my question, how would you create film and game assets with clay? There might be a few exceptions, but the great majority is done in 3d applications. A lot of classical artists are switching, do they all stop beeing artists because they are doing their stuff digital now?

Ever heard of Wallace and Gromit or Creature Comforts?LOL

first of all mudbox is not 2000$ it's 745$ or 650€, secondly what you see there is mudbox 1 this video is one and a half year old, the newer version has improved quite a bitand Jack, thanks it's always the media that makes the art...this is professinal software, made for creating assets for films and games, now tell me how you'd do that with clay smartass |
