That's really kind of you. But we have already found the truth. Jesus Christ did come to the Americas. Even though you may not believe it now, you will. You really will, sooner or later.

Are you talking about individual LDS people going against some of Christ's teachings, or about LDS doctrine going against Christ's teachings? Individual people can choose for themselves. But the Lord Jesus Christ actually leads the LDS church. I know it's a big thing to claim, but it is really true. And when Christ's servants are speaking in His name, they are speaking His will.

That is true. LDS people don't believe that only "Mormons" can go to Heaven. God judges us by our hearts. If someone were to accept the gospel, even if they had never had a chance while they were alive, God knows that. God is totally fair but also merciful. If you have heard that LDS doctrine is that only LDS people can go to Heaven, that is actually NOT a doctrine of the LDS church.

MsChocolette, it sure doesn't look like you have even read the Book of Mormon. If you had, hopefully you'd be better informed. Also, I think lds999 is very good and knowledgeable. From her(?) calm-looking, caring, and informed answers, I really can't believe (she?he?) could be telling lies. Plus, I know the Book of Mormon is true. you can know too. lds9999 just doesn't seem to me to be anyone who would tell lies. . .

Sorry, MsChocolette. You really need to learn a little more about LDS people before you start saying "Everything that yall teach and believe in is a lie." where did you get "mormon black book?" I've never heard that before.

Actually, no. Anyone who has not had the chance to hear the gospel will have the chance to do so. It wouldn't be fair for someone living at some time or place where they were not able to hear it, that they should have to go to the Telestial Kingdom if they would have accepted it. They will have the chance to accept it. In fact, I'm sure that the people who lived before Joseph Smith already have had the chance to accept it or not.

Moses communed with Jehovah. Joseph Smith communed with Jehovah. It's not that hard to believe. He actually could write, he just didn't have a lot of education. Seriously, you should probably find out what is really true about Joseph Smith before you start to blast him. All I can say is, sooner or later, you will actually KNOW that Joseph Smith was a prophet of God.

You shall know them by their fruits. Oh. I guess lds9999 (good job (: ) has quoted the scripure. There are false prophets. But Joseph Smith was not a false prophet. He was a true prophet of God. He followed God. He wasn't perfect, and he said so. But he followed God. He restored the truth upon the earth through Heavenly Father, Jesus Christ, and the Holy Ghost.

It doesn't sound like you have ever read the Book of Mormon. I would encourage you to read it and to pray and ask God if it is true. He will answer through the power of the Holy Ghost.Until you at least do a little more research, you may want to avoid making erroneous comments!

A few thoughts for you. First, besides Joseph Smith, there are written statements from 11 individuals who saw and held the golden plates. Not even ONE of these individuals ever denied their testimony, even though some even left the LDS Church.Second, you claim that Smith couldn't read or write, and yet you believe that HE produced the Book of Mormon (instead of being from God). Surely those two things contradict. A man who could not read or write could not come up with the Book of Mormon |
