Piccadilly Circus and surrounding area. "Piccadilly Circus is a famous traffic intersection and public space of London's West End in the City of Westminster . Built in 1819 to connect Regent Street with the major shopping street of Piccadilly (the "circus" refers to "circular open space at a street junction"), it now links directly to the theatres on Shaftesbury Avenue as well as the Haymarket, Coventry Street (onwards to Leicester Square) and Glasshouse Street." - Wikipedeia. More than a day trip from Thornbury Castle, and certainly worth the travel! (You can view this video, and other travel videos in full-size and near-DVD quality, travel stills and more at www.jpmeyer.com). Thornbury Castle is part of the von Essen Group of hotels, "a private collection of individual country house hotels in the UK, each with a distinctive style and character of its own" according to www.vonessenhotels.co.uk, but we think of it as Real People having Real Fun!

Me thinks zareh77 is really an uneducated American who is posing as a Londoner. What do you think, class?

What's up with the creepy looking buildings and weird small little cars. london is strange. I'm thankful that I live in america where they don't tax the crap out of me like England does to their people.

Bottom line is depending on your work status/income, education, where you live (basically), you'd find ANYWHERE a shithole. Oh well, good luck anyways, wish you the best! London and New York FTW!P.S. When I was there, Soho, Little Italy, and Chinatown weren't what I expected. Broadway, Rockefeller, Times Square, and Central Park are brilliant - only things I enjoyed in NYC, though. Everything else is pretty commonplace. Full of immigrants as well. 140 languages spoken :)

hmm...I though London was an amazing city, what ticks me off is the amount of immigrants living there, that's why I think it's a shithole. London can be remarkable! And I've been to New York City lots (my cousin lives there), and trust me...if you live in the Bronx, Queens, Hoboken, Jersey City, Paterson, or anywhere surrounding New York, you'd think it's a shithole also. Plus...anywhere near New York City is expensive. You'd have to drive at least an hour (without gridlock) to get to work

i am from london england. its crap, expensive, people are rude, we pay the highest taxes and fuel prices in the world, socialising/entertainment is crap, women are unfriendly and fussy. your better off spending your money going to another city in usa or canada. north america is the best place on earth. ive been to nyc so many times and love it with all my heart. new york is the place for me to live, work and party.

i agree too. london is a shithole and most of england. lol. excellent comment brother. new york city is the place to party, socialise, clubbing, shopping, sightseeing, entertainment and the list goes on. i am tryin to get a greencard so i can leave england once and for all. fuck london and its people. new york is the place for me to live, work and party.
