All I'm saying is that technically, I think Dave A. is a better guitar player. Gary's strength is really song writing. Again, I mean no disrespect to Gary because he has his strengths and it a great guitar player and probably the better "showman" of the two, but I think Dave is a better guitar player and brings a much broader range of playing to the band. Dave has played lead with LOTS of world-class bands before REO and face it, Gary could not of pulled that off.

um... well let me just say that I love Gary and all, and he's an icon and everything, but Dave A. is 10x the guitar player Gary ever hoped to be. Sorry, just the truth.

In case it hasn't been said already, REO got to a point where it was a business, not much friendship if anything. A long time ago on American Top 40, Casey Kasem passed on some gossip that Kevin and Gary ended up going to the same place in Hawaii on vacation and bumped into each other. Casey said in so many words that it wasn't something they looked back on with a laugh.

I don't go much for their power ballads, but I've had a soft spot for this one.Check out the Live Aid entry and the wide shot of all three venues. Only the Spectrum is left. Talk about rolling with the changes.
