Saddening, don't really know why, but that's how I felt watching that.=S

no offence but how do you know that??I don't think he's interpreting it from watching again. He's been very well programmed to give that effect. They know exactly how long the song is and it's structure, and have modelled his movements on what a real conductor would be doing at that point.

he is interpreting it mostly

LOL at the people nodding to it like it's alive. But good job on raising all that money.

pretty cool but im not sure if it had any knowledge of the feelings in the piece 'cause it sounded very flat, but I guess I'm a little bit biased. Need to do a double-blind experiment.

haha
hawko84 (May 31, 2008 at 1:35 am)
are you trying to say he's actually listening and interpreting it, or that he's just been well programmed for that performance?

You're not acknowledging that the ASIMO moves its head when responding to a specific section of the orchestra; it handles the ritardando near the end as if humanly responding to the sensitivity of the musicians; subdivides the beats of the antepenultimate bar; and gives a clear cutoff that doesn't disrupt the flow or the style. It's people like you that think you can reduce the responsibility of the conductor to just waving his arms. But, my friend, you just aren't paying attention well enough. |
