One question is certain is was a MAYDAY called? Did this brother have any communication equipment with him and certainly was he alone? I hope that we can all learn from this short video in whatever capacity that we can and stay safe!

trust me im not bashing, we dont know the whole story behind this vid, we dont know if he was on the line by himself (if he was he did one hell of a job knocking down that fire)for all we know he could have gotten separated from his partner. he did a good job at noticing the window and knowing that was his quickest means of egress. i give kudos to the guy.

y was his scba off....it dont matter if ur voluteer or career. the one thing they tell u is never ditch ur scba, now i understand no ones perfect myself included, but thats kind of a major one to just forget?

He was in distress and made his way to a window whats wrong with that? do you know he wasnt cut off from his escape route? no you dont. and for nightfly if you are a texas firefighter and bashing the vol's i feel sorry for you because at some point you will need them like most all paid departments do. I live near FtWorth and have responded into the city many time to support that department. Dont make comments about things you know nothing about. FOOL

He was obviously in distress and he followed the simplest rule, when in trouble evacuate. He did the right thing, he possibly had no helmet and air pack on because he couldn't fit out so as his last resort he removed it which is as I said a last resort. Also with the amount of toxic chemicals in the smoke he may have come out head first to avoid breathing anymore of it in then he already had, anyone who says anything bad about this should think what they might have to do in the same situation
