they also put them on becasuse at the end of the wing there is a vortex which causes distrubances with the airflow. the winglets get rid of these vortex's.just in case you didnt know that
jay4398 (June 28, 2008 at 9:17 pm)
yes you can put winglets on a 737-300 and also the 757 they save fuel pianodood
PianoDood567 (June 21, 2008 at 5:06 pm)
they put winglets because they help with speed and air flow over the wings
flydude1063 (June 8, 2008 at 8:55 am)
I didn't think they had any 300's with winglets. I thought just the 700's did. Guess I was mistaken. very cool

Great stuff, love seeing the -300s with the modifiers on them.

You can also tell if you look at the engine pylon. The -700 is rounded off, the -300 is squared. You can do a search for the N number, N603SW and find pictures of it.

Yeah it is a -300. Can you not tell the difference in wing length from a -700 and a -300. Its quite obvious...
speedbird1123 (March 1, 2008 at 1:35 pm)
They put winglets on the -300s already? are you sure its not a -700 |
