Among the fun, Me Decade-inspired songs are the stomping, T. Rex-esque "Hot Girls in Good Moods" and the slinky "Bethamphetamine (Pretty Pretty)." However, Walker's tastes are too eclectic to stay in that vein for a full record, so he also tosses a few curveballs with tracks like the plaintive piano ballad "Dominoes" and the twangy alt-country number "Rich People Die Unhappy." Co-billed to his cheekily named backing band, the Let's-Go-Out-Tonites, RISE AND FALL shines the spotlight on Walker's impressively chameleon-like musical morphing and his charming sense of humor.
