As far as I know there wasn't a Hot Shot in G1(although I'm sure there was with as many Transformers there were). There was one called Hot Spot but he was the leader of the Protectobots. Hot Rod became Rodimus Prime in G1. But the Rodimus in this series is way different than the one in G1 obviously.
