One BandOne HitOne More Shot at GloryOne Too Many ProblemsOne Hit WondersIn 1985 the band The Frizz had a Top 40 single, but they soon broke up after the death of their freewheelin bass player Seth Collinswiggle. Now 20 years later, their song is a hit again thanks to a hit TV show. Can the band get back together for one more shot at glory? And even if they do, can they stay together without killing one another? One Hit Wonders is not a short film exactly, but a teaser for a show idea. In the Spring of 2006 Team Playomatic found out about the Myspace.com/Sunnyfx TV comedy pilot at the last minute with less than a week to the deadline. This, however, did not deter us from coming up with an idea and creating this teaser on short notice. The idea was conceived on Tuesday, June 6, 2006, hammered out in a group meeting on Thursday, June 8th, and then shot at the Peabody Jam Rooms on Friday, June 9th. It was edited on June 11th and posted to MySpace for the FX competition on Monday, June 12th after many repeated attempts to upload it. To date it has not been screened anywhere but on MySpace.com/playomatic making it a web exclusive.Tune in. . . well, we arent sure when you'll get to tune in, because we are disappointed to report that our teaser did not make the Top 20 out of over 3000 submitted films in the competition. Still, we all like it. Maybe you will too. Let us know.Copyright 2006 - Playomatic - All Rights Reserved

Hey Playomatic,I'm with Pilot Lite a festival for independent television - we were wondering if you ever completed a full length (17-24 minute) version of your show? If so we'd love to talk with you about featuring it in our upcoming festival with a deadline on June 1st!Cheers!Pilot Lite

Hey Skatman, Thanks for your comments on One Hit Wonders. We thought The Frizz was a good name for a fictitious 80's band. We also have an outtake called "White Boy Beat It" that you might enjoy...or not.

I regret to inform you the answer is no, I did not make it on to FX. We were crushed. We've been in depression for a year now. Sigh. But thanks for asking.
