What this song means to me: I feel like this song is talking about how you have inner frustrations in life. One of mine is knowing that I don't have a girlfriend. I can't get to a rainbow either. Because my emotions of disappointment create too much a storm, that it never gets sunshine, bringing out the rainbow, which would be a girlfriend.

Staggering.The first time I realy listened to this (1972) I was sitting crosslegged on the floor of my bedroom in front of the speakers,tripping on acid.I thought I'd died and gone to heaven. A four minute symphony containing more heart and beauty than most bands demonstrate on their entire careers. Jimi brought so much to us all.RIP.

it's very open to interpretation. to me, it talks about his many feelings inside him and how it prevents him from loving someone. listen to the last bridge before the chorus (the "my yellow is not so mellow" part")but like i said, it's very open to interpretation, thats what is so great about all Jimi's music.

jimi hendrix, the beatles, the doors, bob dylan, ect. the 60s were the best time for music, and afterward it just got boring and predictable but hopefully that will change soon, but probably not.
