I've just encountered Said's writing for the first time and I regard him as a fascinating, erudite and welcome voice of intellectual dissent. Our mass-media's lazy, biased and arguably dangerous portrayal of Muslims, the middle east, and all peoples considered "other" than ourselves should be opened up to criticism where ever possible.Thanks for the post.
