Andy did his Elvis impersonation on his very first TV performance on the "Kennedy At Night" program in June 1972.He also performed it twice as a cast member of the New Dick Van Dyke Show in 1976.

Even during the height of his fame, Andy washed dishes at the same place he'd worked at for years! He hated sitcoms because of all the contrived recorded laughter and had to be convinced to do Taxi because he was truly a purist. Today, you see stars on a talk show, and all they do is a basic interview. Andy ALWAYS started with a skit first and was the last of a dyeing breed. Thanks' for the memories Andy...R.I.P.
