When you stop to consider just how idiosyncratic his Dad was, you're bound to see that Dweezil does a great job nailing all the nuances that Frank would typically put into a performance.. Ive seen both Zappas play, sadly not on the same stage, but seeing Dweezil play Frank, it's pretty damn convincing.

The oxen is slow but the earth is patient....yup. No really this is some tasty guitar playing, even better if you can go and see zappa plays zappa in person. Sit back and enjoy.

The only bit that bothers me is that he doesn't add a certain degree of improv that dear old dad did. This is almost verbatum from Zoot Allures.

There is like 15 versions of black napkins. I am sure at least half of them were studio versions. For exemple the shut up and play your guitar once more version ''pink napkins''.

How do you judge that when he's playing a cover? Besides, I thought Confessions was a damn fine album.

The Zoot Allures version was recorded live. I don't think a studio recording of Black Napkins exists.

YOu thinking of the 1979 version with Belew and Bozzio?
