It doesn't have to be the highest point.

well... to loop its before highest point and its a short whipping forarm action, watch my vid to see how i do it but im driving not looping

Yes the last video clip is choping(underspin) VS Loop(topsin). It's an old video with 38mm ball now we use 40mm ball. Modern offensive & deffensive players have more rubber selection than the past 5-10 years ago.

Chen Weixing is a shakehands chopper. I do mean Boll. As a penholder turned shakehander I can guarantee you that forehand mechanics transfer at a basic level.

i agree.. but you can't blame them they're great players but they didn't have thick rubbers or carbon based raquettes... like we do these days.. so it was really hard to give out a spin effect especially a top spin in such a thin raquette.. ps timo boll visited my team many times we trained together he's such a nice guy :)
heyarashi (May 21, 2007 at 6:02 am)
actually all that's not completely right. the modern way is to contact the ball right off the bounce due to the increased grip of new rubbers. you can spin it over the net right away. this video is old school and highest point looping is also older european style. players like timo boll don't do that anymore |
